The medium-body Almayar is the model that sells most in Egypt, and the reason is simple: three quartz candles at 400 W each, three usable heat levels of 400 W, 800 W and 1200 W, and a price that makes it the default second heater in a flat. Infrared heat reaches you the moment you switch it on — there is no warm-up period the way there is with an oil radiator — which is what you want for an hour in the bathroom or the first cold half hour in the bedroom. Each candle has its own rocker switch, so a mild evening costs you 400 W and a cold one costs 1200 W. The protective front mesh guard keeps anything from touching the tubes, a tip-over switch cuts the supply automatically if the unit goes over, and a thermal cut-out protects against overheating.
