The fan is what makes an eleven-fin radiator practical in a large room — oil radiators are slow to start by nature, and switching the fan on for the first stretch pushes the warm air across the space instead of letting it pool around the fins. Once the room is up, switch the fan off and the oil holds the temperature silently. Three heat settings on rocker switches and an adjustable thermostat dial that cycles the heater to hold your setting. The safety package is the full BLACK+DECKER set: overheat cut-out with an internal safety switch, a safety fuse, and the upright-only device that keeps the heater from running if it is knocked over.
