The De'Longhi Capsule Desk is not a room heater and should not be bought as one — at 360 W it is a personal heater, built to keep one person warm at a desk. That is exactly what makes it useful: 360 W is about a fifth of what a room heater draws, so you can leave it running under a desk all day for the cost of a few light bulbs, instead of heating an entire office to warm one pair of hands. The element is ceramic PTC, which self-regulates its own temperature, and the fan is single-speed and quiet at 35 to 39 dB. There is no oscillation; instead the air louvre tilts and swivels so you aim the warm air where you want it. Safety is proper De'Longhi: a safety thermostat, overheat cut-out, an automatic tip-over shut-off switch and Class II double insulation. It is 15 cm wide, 17.5 cm tall and weighs 878 grams, with a carry handle and a 1.5 m cord, in a soft pink finish. Made in China for the Italian brand, two years official agent warranty in Egypt.
