The Satlink V8 HD is a professional handheld satellite finder meter that turns dish alignment from a two-person guessing game into a one-person job that takes minutes. Its 3.5-inch high definition TFT LCD screen shows live signal strength and quality readings side by side, so you can see the exact moment the dish reaches its strongest lock instead of relying on a beep alone. It is fully DVB-S and DVB-S2 compliant with MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 (H.264) decoding, covers the full 950–2150 MHz input range at signal levels from -65 to -25 dBm, and demodulates both QPSK and 8PSK. Auto scan, blind scan, manual scan and NIT scan are all built in, and the meter automatically calculates the azimuth and elevation angles for the satellite you are aiming at. DiSEqC 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 plus 0/22 KHz tone switching mean it works correctly on multi-LNB and motorised installations, and LNB short-circuit protection guards the meter and the dish hardware against wiring faults. A combined sound and light alarm with a built-in speaker confirms lock while you are up at the dish, and HDMI out, AV out and AV in let you watch the actual picture to confirm you are on the right satellite. The included 12V 4000 mAh rechargeable lithium battery keeps the meter working through a full day of installations, and firmware is upgraded over USB.
