The Unitex HW-8RCU is a multi function folding megaphone rated at 15 watts with an effective range of roughly 200 metres, which is enough to cover a school yard, a parade route, a market street, a mosque courtyard or a sports field. It combines live voice amplification through the built in microphone with a siren tone, a record and playback function for repeated announcements, and a USB port for playing MP3 files from a flash drive. Power comes from four standard D cell batteries, so it can be brought back into service anywhere without waiting for a charge. The folding handle and light durable body make it easy to store in a car or a store room. Insert fresh batteries of the same type, speak close to the microphone, and avoid pointing the horn at reflective walls.
