Its high-efficiency compression driver and flared horn throat concentrate sound energy into a long forward throw, so announcements cut through traffic, machinery and crowd noise far better than a cone speaker of the same wattage. The unit works on a 100 V or 70 V constant voltage line, which lets many horns run from one mixer amplifier over long cable runs with minimal loss, and it can also be wired at low impedance.
