The Wahl Professional Taper 2000 is the corded workhorse that barbers have trusted for decades / and it is the machine many students learn on. The chrome-plated adjustable blade is 40 mm wide and the thumb taper lever changes the cut from 1 to 3.5 mm on the fly / so you can blend and taper without stopping to swap blades.
