The sealed diathermic oil is what you are paying for — it stores heat in the fins and releases it slowly, so the room temperature stays flat instead of swinging, and unlike a fan heater it works in silence with no moving parts to wear out. The adjustable room thermostat holds whatever level you set and a separate safety thermostat sits behind it, with a safety cut-out switch as the final layer. Anti-frost protects the room below freezing point.
