Heller's MAV 2009 is the straightforward German-built oil radiator: nine fins, 2000 W, three heat settings at 950 W, 1050 W and 2000 W, rated for 10 m² — a bedroom or a small office. The fins are sealed and filled with environmentally-safe diathermic oil, and the corrosion-resistant powder-coated steel body is what you would expect from a unit imported and warranted by El Araby. The room thermostat is infinitely variable rather than stepped, so you can dial it to exactly the point where the heater cuts in and out on its own, and a temperature sensor shuts it down automatically if it runs hot. Behind that sits a thermal fuse that cuts the current outright if the thermostat itself ever fails — the layer that matters most on a heater left running overnight.
