A plug-in range extender from TP-Link that fills in the weak corner of a flat or a small office. Model TL-WA855RE repeats an existing 2.4 GHz network at up to 300 Mbps from 2 external antennas, and it adds 1 Ethernet port at 10/100 Mbps, so a desktop, a smart TV or a DVR in that room can be wired straight into it. Setup is a WPS press next to the router, then the unit moves to the spot that needs coverage. It is single band, so devices that support 5 GHz will still connect on 2.4 GHz, and the wired port is Fast Ethernet rather than Gigabit. It carries a 1 year local warranty.
