This View Sound 8-inch subwoofer driver is a bare passive bass unit intended to be mounted inside a speaker enclosure. The 8-inch cone is the popular middle size in the range: it reaches usefully low while still fitting inside the slim cabinets used for home theatre systems, active 2.1 speaker sets, small stage boxes and background music systems in cafes, shops and meeting rooms. It is a low impedance driver, so it wires straight to the bass channel of a mixer amplifier, receiver or subwoofer amplifier using the terminals on the metal basket. Radio Talaat stocks it both for cabinet builders assembling their own boxes and for service work, where it directly replaces an original woofer that has been overdriven or damaged.
