The Fresh EC01-2HP is a portable two-plate cooker, not a built-in hob: it stands on the counter on four anti-skid rubber feet and plugs into a wall socket, and you must never cut a worktop for it. Two sealed cast iron discs sit in a stainless steel body, 1500 W on the large plate and 1000 W on the small, 2500 W together, each with its own thermostat knob that cycles the element to hold the setting rather than simply switching on and off. It takes any pan you own, there is no glass to crack, and it is tough enough for a chalet, a site or a second kitchen. Give it its own good wall socket rather than a shared extension lead.
