The Fresh EC01-2HP is a portable two-plate cooker, not a built-in hob. It stands on the counter on four anti-skid rubber feet and plugs into a wall socket, and a worktop must never be cut for it. Two sealed cast iron discs sit in a stainless steel body, 1500 W on the large plate and 1000 W on the small one, 2500 W together. Each has its own thermostat knob that cycles the element to hold the setting rather than only switching on and off. It takes any pan, there is no glass to crack, and it is strong enough for a chalet, a work site or a second kitchen. It needs its own sound wall socket rather than a shared extension lead. There is no timer, no child lock and no residual heat symbol. The cast iron discs stay hot long after the indicator lamp goes out, so they should be dried and wiped lightly with oil.
